Gail Hotz Bay is a hands-on creator at heart. She discovered macramé during a summer in high school and found joy in turning simple cord into plant hangers, dog leashes, belts, and eventually, jewelry.

In 2000, she began working with waxed thread, a more durable medium that expanded her designs into bracelets, necklaces, keychains, and her own original style she calls “hipsters.”

Her creative process has taken her abroad in search of distinctive beads — exploring shops, shows, and sourcing materials from around the world. Many of these elements carry unique character and history, making her pieces truly one of a kind.

With a Bachelor of Arts rooted in the ‘cut & paste’ era of graphic design, Gail brings a sharp eye for detail and a constant flow of fresh, imaginative ideas to everything she creates.
